littleBits Output Modules

The littleBits bargraph shows how much signal a circuit is receiving using five coloured LEDs that light up in sequence — a simple, visual way for students to "see" an otherwise invisible signal. It's one of the most useful littleBits output modules for understanding how inputs work. Try it: pair it with a pressure sensor to build your own strength-o-meter.

The littleBits buzzer does exactly what its name suggests — it makes an attention-grabbing sound whenever it receives an ON signal. It's a quick, satisfying output for feedback and alerts, and works with the rest of our output Bits. Try it: build your own doorbell, timer or alarm, or pair it with a button to send signals in Morse code.

The littleBits DC motor spins a small shaft you can attach wheels, arms or card to — the go-to Bit for adding movement to a build. It's tethered, so you can place the motor exactly where it's needed, and it pairs with the rest of our output Bits. Try it: add a wheel to build a moving vehicle, or attach card to make a spinning display.

The littleBits LED (light-emitting diode) is a small board that shines a clear green light — the go-to Bit whenever you want to light something up, and often the first output students ever use. Explore the rest of our littleBits output modules to add sound and motion too. Try it: connect it straight to a USB power Bit to make the simplest possible littleBits circuit.

The littleBits number Bit displays information about the signal it receives on a two-digit, seven-segment screen. In read mode it shows a value from 00–99 or a voltage from 0.0–5.0; in count mode it counts up or down with each trigger and can be reset — a great bridge into data and maths within a circuit. Pair it with the rest of our littleBits output modules. Try it: use count mode with a button to tally presses, or read mode with a sensor to display a live reading.

The littleBits RGB LED is an adjustable colour light — turn its red, green and blue channels with the included screwdriver to mix almost any colour you like. It's a favourite for adding a personal touch to a build, alongside our other output Bits. Try it: match the light to the colour of your creation, or fade between colours as part of a display.

The littleBits servo is a controllable motor that can swing back and forth or turn to a set position, giving students precise, repeatable movement in their builds. Its cross-axle shaft fits any littleBits accessory with a cross-axle opening, and it works alongside our other output Bits. Try it: attach a flag or arm to make it wave, or use it to steer and point a moving model.
