A document camera — or visualiser, which is what most Australian teachers call it — puts whatever is on the desk onto the classroom screen. A worksheet, a student's book, a science demonstration, the inside of a clock. It is the piece of classroom technology teachers reach for most and think about least.

What are you trying to do with it?

Show a page or an object to the whole class

A note on cost. The range here runs from about $63 to $1,780. The honest split is that budget cameras suit small groups, close work and animation; dedicated visualisers earn their price when the image has to be readable from the back of a full classroom, every day, for years.
