UltiMaker PET CF is PETG reinforced with chopped carbon fibre. It is stiff, dimensionally stable and holds its shape under load and heat, which puts it in a different class from the standard materials - this is for parts that have to work, not parts that have to look right. Think jigs, fixtures, tooling and replacement components on machinery.
Specifications:
- 750g spool
- 2.85mm diameter - for UltiMaker S series printers
- Carbon-fibre reinforced PETG
- Three colours: black, blue and grey
- Print profiles built into UltiMaker Cura
This material needs a CC or CC+ print core. Carbon fibre is abrasive and will wear out a standard AA brass core. UltiMaker make CC cores specifically for composites, and running PET CF without one will damage the nozzle. Check which cores your printer has before ordering.
Who this is for:
- TAFE and university engineering programmes making functional parts rather than models
- Senior design and technology courses covering material selection and composites
- Workshops printing their own jigs, fixtures and tooling
For general classroom work, PLA or PETG are the sensible choices and considerably cheaper. PET CF earns its cost only where the strength and stability are genuinely needed.
Supplied to order, so stock is not held locally. Schools, TAFEs, universities and government institutions can order on a purchase order. See all UltiMaker printers and materials.
