uConnect - Hearing Augmentation Solutions
The UConnect range including UConnect SoundHouse and UConnect Mini are agile plug and play hearing augmentation solutions for any learning space. Learners, teachers and visitors now wear different hearing aids with different types of inbuilt receivers; there is no universal platform to achieve transmission of audio to receivers in those aids. Traditional solutions alone should not be adopted should you wish to future proof your buildings.

tcq ceiling speaker

Lightspeed Classroom Audio: Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lightspeed Access Technology and "point-to-pair"?

Access Technology is Lightspeed's wireless system, operating on a dedicated 1.9 GHz band that avoids interference with Wi-Fi and other classroom technology, with long range and no audio dropouts. "Point-to-pair" is the pairing method on current systems — simply point the microphone at the system to connect, with no menus or set-up.

We have an older Lightspeed system, such as the 975 — is it still supported?

Yes. The 975 has been succeeded by the T25, but Access-generation systems are still supported, and we stock spares and replacement parts — microphones, batteries, chargers and more — for older Lightspeed systems. If you're not sure what you need, get in touch.

What's the difference between the Access and Point-to-Pair versions?

Lightspeed's current systems and microphones use point-to-pair pairing and lithium-ion mic batteries, while the earlier Access generation uses push-button registration and NiMH mic batteries. Components aren't always interchangeable between the two, so when buying microphones, batteries or chargers, match them to your system's generation — we label each clearly, and we're happy to help.

Which microphone do I need for my Lightspeed system?

Point-to-Pair systems (the current Redcat, Topcat, T25 and Mobile PA) use the Point-to-Pair Flexmike (FMN) teacher microphone and Sharemike (SMN) student microphone. Older Access systems use the Access Flexmike (FMA) and Sharemike (SMA). Check your system's generation, or ask us if you're unsure.

Can I add Lightspeed wireless audio to my existing speakers?

Yes — Access Link lets you add Lightspeed wireless microphones to an existing amplifier and speaker system, bringing the benefits of instructional audio to a room without replacing your current equipment.

Are your Lightspeed products genuine, and is warranty supported in Australia?

Every product we supply is genuine Lightspeed, backed by warranty and local support. Using genuine, correctly supplied parts also keeps your system's warranty intact — a key reason to buy from an authorised source rather than grey-market sellers.
