Description
This is the kit for students who should understand the circuit, not just the code. Twenty-four components and a breadboard adapter, with fourteen lessons that build up from lighting a single LED to driving a motor — each one explaining what the component does and why the circuit works.
What's included:
- micro:bit breadboard adapter and breadboard
- LEDs, RGB LED and a rainbow LED module
- Button, self-locking switch, trimpot and photocell
- Temperature sensor, buzzer, 180° servo and DC motor
- Jumper leads, resistors and connecting hardware — 24 component types in total
- micro:bit board and batteries are not included — add a micro:bit V2 at checkout
The fourteen lessons:
- LED, button, trimpot and photocell — the basics of input and output
- RGB LED, self-lock switch, temperature sensor and servo
- Buzzer, motor and rainbow LED
- Accelerometer, compass and ambient light, using the micro:bit's own sensors
All fourteen lessons are documented on the ElecFreaks wiki. The kit supports MakeCode block coding, Python and JavaScript, and works with both micro:bit V1 and V2, so it stays useful as students progress.
