UltiMaker CPE is a co-polyester built for chemical resistance and dimensional stability. It holds its size as it cools better than PLA, so large flat parts stay flat, and it stands up to contact with oils and solvents. A sensible middle ground when a part needs to be more robust than PLA without the ventilation demands of ABS.
Specifications:
- 750g spool
- 2.85mm diameter - for UltiMaker S series printers
- Two colours: black and white
- Print profiles built into UltiMaker Cura
Check your printer takes 2.85mm. UltiMaker S series printers use 2.85mm filament. Most other desktop printers, including FlashForge and the MakerBot SKETCH range, take 1.75mm and this spool will not fit them.
Where CPE fits:
- Parts that need to keep their dimensions - housings, enclosures, anything that has to fit something else
- Components that will meet oils, cleaning agents or solvents
- Larger flat prints where PLA would warp
For everyday classroom printing, PLA is easier and cheaper, and PETG covers most tougher jobs. CPE is worth reaching for when chemical resistance or tight tolerances are the point.
Supplied to order, so stock is not held locally. Schools, TAFEs, universities and government institutions can order on a purchase order. See all UltiMaker printers and materials.
