UltiMaker TPU 95A is a flexible filament. Prints come out rubbery rather than rigid, so they bend, squash and spring back - useful for grips, seals, phone cases, wheels, hinges and anything that needs to absorb a knock. For students it is the material that makes the point that 3D printing is not only for hard plastic parts.

Check your printer takes 2.85mm. UltiMaker S series printers use 2.85mm filament. Most other desktop printers, including FlashForge and the MakerBot SKETCH range, take 1.75mm and this spool will not fit them.
Worth knowing before a class uses it:
- Flexible filament prints slowly. Budget more lesson time than for a PLA print of the same size.
- It needs a direct, steady feed, so it suits a supervised senior class rather than a first print.
- Store it dry. Like most flexibles it absorbs moisture from the air, which shows up as rough surfaces and popping during a print.
Choosing between materials: PLA for general work, PETG for tougher functional parts, and TPU only where the part genuinely needs to flex.
