This exciting program is designed to help teach kids the basics of cyber security and computing practices in a fun and engaging way. Throughout the course, students will learn how computers use private and public networks to transmit information, the difference between ethical and unethical uses of technology, how to evaluate the risks and benefits of different computing practices, the motives behind different types of hackers, and common cyber attacks such as phishing, malware, and distributed denial of service attacks. Plus, they'll gain valuable insight into the techniques used by cybersecurity professionals to protect internet connected devices and computer users. Finally, they'll learn strategies for keeping themselves and their devices safe from cyber attacks and discover potential career paths in the field of cybersecurity. With Sphero BOLT Cybersecurity STEAM Program, students can gain the skills and knowledge they need to become tech savvy and cyber secure!
The Sphero BOLT Cybersecurity STEAM Program is a term based program that lasts for an 8 week term. It allows for 4 classes of students to participate in 8 x 1 hour sessions based around coding and programming the Sphero robot as well as several design and invention challenges modelling the Engineering Design Cycle.

Suitable for Years 3-6
Maximum Participants: 4 classes (maximum of 30 students each class) - more classes possible with additonal booking dates
Duration: 8 weeks - 1 hour session for each class - 4 classes on the same day (Same day each week for 8 weeks, e.g. Monday, Tuesday etc.)
Location Required: School Hall – Hard surface
