Welcome to Bee Bot STEAM Incursion Program from Sammat Education!

Designed for use by young children for the introduction of coding and considered communication skills, the Bee Bot is an entertaining, versatile, child and classroom-friendly resource. Suitable for kids of early learning, childcare and lower primary ages, the simple layout is a perfect starting point to teach control, directional language and programming too little ones.

Our hands on workshop features Bee Bot and a guest appearance from his younger brother Blue Bot!

With our Bee Bot STEAM Incursion Program, the students will first be introduced to the robot and learn how to control it using the programmable buttons. They'll then be presented with various challenges and activities to complete, such as navigating through mazes, finding hidden objects, and more.

Bee Bot and Blue Bot are well suited to supporting a number of aspects of the science and technology curriculum. Students will:

  •  Understand what algorithms are, how they are implemented as programs on digital devices, and that programs execute by following precise and unambiguous instructions.
  • Design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems; solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts.
  • Use sequence, selection and repetition in programs; work with variables and various forms of input and output. Use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs.

The Bee Bot STEAM Program is a term based program that lasts for an 8 week term. It allows for 4 classes of students to participate in 8 x 1 hour sessions based around coding and programming the robot as well as several design and invention challenges modelling the Engineering Design Cycle.

Suitable for Years K-2
Maximum Participants: 4 classes (maximum of 30 students each class) - more classes possible with additonal booking dates
Duration: 8 weeks - 1 hour session for each class - 4 classes on the same day (Same day each week for 8 weeks, e.g. Monday, Tuesday etc.)
Location Required: Classroom
