Bee Bot and Blue Bot are well suited to supporting a number of aspects of the science and technology curriculum. Students will:
- Understand what algorithms are, how they are implemented as programs on digital devices, and that programs execute by following precise and unambiguous instructions.
- Design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems; solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts.
- Use sequence, selection and repetition in programs; work with variables and various forms of input and output. Use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs.
The Bee Bot STEAM Program is a term based program that lasts for an 8 week term. It allows for 4 classes of students to participate in 8 x 1 hour sessions based around coding and programming the Sphero indi robot as well as several design and invention challenges modelling the Engineering Design Cycle.
All challenges and coding principles taught in the Bee Bot STEAM Program link to the Australian Curriculum.
