Description

Everything needed to start, in one box: the micro:bit Space Science Kit, a micro:bit V2 board, and four self-paced lessons in the Sammat Online Academy. A printed landing map gives the terrain, the Nezha V2 board and smart motor give the vehicle, and the lessons take students through the mission: navigate, sample, measure, report.

What's included:

  • 1 x micro:bit Space Science Kit
  • 1 x micro:bit GO pack (V2) — board, battery pack with 2 x AAA batteries and a USB cable
  • 4 self-paced lessons in the Sammat Online Academy, with build steps, code and video walkthroughs
  • Kit contains a Nezha breakout board V2, a Planet X smart motor, ten electronic modules, over 400 ABS building bricks and a scenario-based moon landing map
  • Recommended for ages 10 and over

The lessons cover:

  • Building the rover and driving it across the landing map
  • Combining sensing, movement and reporting in one build
  • Planning a sequence of actions to complete a mission
  • Block coding in Microsoft MakeCode, with Python available for older students

You will need a computer, phone or tablet with internet access to load the Microsoft MakeCode editor. ElecFreaks documents eight further guided projects for this kit, so there is plenty to build once the four lessons are done.
