Today's students are so immersed in technology that it's no longer necessary to carry around a laptop and cellphone to access information.
They have devices with the ability to access the internet at any time, anywhere.
As more of society is becoming digitally adept, schools need to change their pedagogical methods to ensure they're preparing their students for the digital age.
In order for educators to utilise the technology they need to make it both engaging and effective.
During this workshop, participants will:

understand the notion of innovative technologies;

explore augmented reality applications that can be integrated into the curriculum;

engage in coding activities that link to a range of curriculum areas;

explore how robotics can be used to used authentically in the classroom; and
-
map innovative technologies experiences across the curriculum through authentic integration.
In this professional learning workshop, teachers will explore a range of innovative technologies that can be used across the curriculum. These hands-on sessions will have participants engaging in tasks that include augmented reality, robotics and coding.
Teachers will be able to take their experiences in these sessions and integrate these innovative technologies into their classroom.

Completing the STEAM in Action workshop will contribute 4 hours of Professional Learning addressing 1.2.2, 1.5.2, 2.1.2, 2.5.2, 2.6.2, 3.2.2, 3.3.2, 3.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation.
