UConnect Hearing Augmentation Systems for Schools
New and refurbished learning spaces often need hearing augmentation to meet the National Construction Code, disability standards and department or diocesan policy. The hard part is that students wear many different hearing aids with different built-in receivers, so a system tied to one technology — a hearing loop on its own, for example — won't reach everyone.
UConnect, from Melbourne-based Hear and Learn, solves this at the wall. It collects the audio in the room — the teacher's voice, screen audio, PA and office messages — balances it, and sends it to whichever transmitter suits your students, whether the school supplies it or a student brings their own. When receivers change, you change the transmitter, not the building.
Both models arrive pre-built and tested with power built in, ready for your electrician to connect — no extra power points on the wall and no loose cables within reach.
UConnect Soundhouse
The all-in-one option. SoundHouse combines hearing augmentation with a classroom soundfield system: its built-in amplifier sends voices and screen audio evenly to speakers in the ceiling or high on the wall, so every student hears clearly — not only those with hearing aids.

UConnect Mini

How a UConnect project works
Plans — send us your architect's plans or room list, or ask for Hear and Learn's standard drawings for each room size.
Site visit — for refurbishments, we check walls, ceilings and the existing AV and PA.
Quote — a quote for each space, ready for your builder or purchase order. An access consultant's report is available on request.
Install and handover — installed by your electrician or builder, then commissioned with staff training through HearAssist.
