STEAM in Action - Robotics in the Classroom Professional Learning

This workshop is designed for K-6 educators who wish to innovate their teaching and learning programs with authentic integration of robotics.
During this workshop, participants will:
explore the functions of Sphero, Bee-Bot/Blue-Bot and Ozobot and how they link to syllabus documents;
engage in hands-on activities that can be transferred into the classroom;
discover how the integration of robotics can help diversify and differentiate the learning occurring in the classroom;
develop an experience tailored to their class using robotics; and
develop a sound understanding of STEAM and its importance in today’s classroom and how robotics can be used in an innovative way.
Participants will walk away from this workshop with the confidence to authentically integrate robotics across the curriculum. They will also have a deeper understanding of where STEAM lies in today’s educational landscape.

Completing the STEAM in Action workshop will contribute 4.5 hours of Professional Learning addressing 1.2.2, 1.5.2, 2.1.2, 2.5.2, 2.6.2, 3.2.2, 3.3.2, 3.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation.
