Sphero robotics burst onto the educational scene in recent years offering students innovative ways to learn concepts across the curriculum.
During this workshop, participants will:
- understand the functionality of Sphero;
- explore the Sphero Edu portal (create lessons, discover STEAM projects, link to Google Classroom);
- engage in activities that support substrands in Mathematics (angles, addition and subtraction, time, length, probability, data and two-dimensional shapes;
- challenge each other in STEAM orientated challenges; and
- map Sphero experiences across the curriculum through authentic integration.
Participants will walk away from this workshop with the confidence to authentically integrate Sphero into their teaching and learning program. They will also have a deeper understanding of where robotics lies in today’s educational landscape.

Completing the STEAM in Action workshop will contribute 4 hours of Professional Learning addressing 1.2.2, 1.5.2, 2.1.2, 2.5.2, 2.6.2, 3.2.2, 3.3.2, 3.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation.
