As the holiday season approached, the primary school teachers at Evergreen Public School were buzzing with excitement. They had a special plan for their students this year, inspired by their favorite programmable robots from the Sammat Education collection. Little did they know, this Christmas would turn into an unforgettable adventure that would teach not just the students but the entire school a lesson in coding, teamwork, and holiday spirit.
The Plan: A Robotic Christmas Play
Mrs. Parker, the technology teacher, had an idea. "What if we use our beloved Bee-Bots, Blue-Bots, Sphero, and Ozobot robots to put on a Christmas play?" she suggested during a faculty meeting. The idea was met with enthusiastic approval, and the teachers set to work, integrating literacy, numeracy, and coding into a festive project that would captivate the whole school.
Act One: The Bee-Bot Ballet
The play opened with a Bee-Bot ballet. Dressed in tiny, vibrant shells from the Activity Tin Packs, the Bee-Bots pirouetted across the stage, their paths meticulously programmed by the youngest of students to the tune of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy." The audience was delighted as the Bee-Bots, now able to detect each other, exchanged hellos with cute beeps and boops, showcasing their recorded greetings.
Act Two: Blue-Bot's Christmas Journey
Next up, Blue-Bot embarked on a Christmas journey, navigating snowy obstacle courses designed on the Sphero Edu app. With 45-degree turns and flashing lights, Blue-Bot traversed the North Pole, controlled remotely by students using tablets. Their mission: to help Blue-Bot deliver letters to Santa, a task that required careful coding and collaboration.
Act Three: Sphero Saves Christmas
The plot thickened as the Sphero robots rolled into the scene, their mission to save Christmas from a sudden, unexpected fog that threatened Santa's departure. Using the Sphero Edu app, students programmed their Sphero BOLTs to illuminate the runway with their bright, colorful LEDs, ensuring Santa's sleigh could take off into the night. The BOLTs' movements and lights were synchronized in a dazzling display that drew cheers and applause.
Act Four: Ozobot's New Year Countdown
As the story neared its end, the Ozobots took center stage for the final act - a New Year's countdown. Dressed in festive stickers, the tiny robots danced around a miniature Times Square, their paths coded with colour markers. As the clock struck midnight, the Ozobots converged to form the numbers of the new year, while students used the Ozobot Classroom software to add fireworks and celebratory animations to the scene.
Curtain Call: A Lesson in Teamwork
As the curtain fell, the school erupted in applause. The Christmas play was a resounding success, but the real triumph was the lesson in coding, creativity, and teamwork. Mrs. Parker took a moment to thank the students, her fellow teachers, and the supportive parents. She also expressed gratitude to Sammat Education for providing the robots that made it all possible.
