We are delighted to announce three online professional development courses for teachers this term. These courses are tailored to help teachers seamlessly integrate STEAM into their teaching to enhance student learning.
The purpose of these online professional development courses is to equip teachers with the necessary knowledge and resources to seamlessly integrate STEAM into their teaching. They offer practical tools, learning activities, and lesson ideas, along with an explanation of the critical elements involved in STEAM integration.
Our Term 1 courses were developed in collaboration with Grant Jones who currently lectures in Primary Human Society and its Environment in the Master of Teaching degree at Western Sydney University. Grant has worked across both private and public school systems over the past 18 years. In his time he has had leadership roles in the area of ICT where he was at the forefront of ICT integration into the classroom through roles such as ICT and Innovations Leader. In 2018 he completed his Master of Education (STEM) – the first in Australia to graduate with this degree. Grant is now beginning his PhD research looking at what integrated pedagogical content knowledge primary school teachers need to teach effective and authentic STEAM in the classroom.
