The micro:bit Smart Home Project is designed to help your students get started with exploring the world of electronics with a focus on home automation.
Sammat Education would like to invite NSW Schools to participate in a collaborative Regional STEM project that involves students and teachers developing SMART HOMES of the future all powered by micro:bit technology.
The micro:bit Smart Home Kit is designed to help you get started with exploring the world of electronics with a focus on home automation. Simply speaking a “Smart Home” is a home equipped with the lighting, heating, cooling, visual, sound appliances, miscellaneous electronic devices that can be controlled remotely (and automated) by a smartphone or a computer.
Our Goal
Each team designs and creates a “Smart Home” and presents their project on the Expo Day in Term 4.
How it works
- Schools can register teams of students into the project. Our suggestion would be approx 10 students per team.
- Schools can register multiple teams and each school needs to allocate a teacher in charge of the project or team.
- Each team receives a micro:bit Smart Home Classroom Kit (10 Individual smart home packs that include micro:bits).
- Teachers participate in a Professional Learning day that introduces the kits and will have access to online lessons and resources to help with the project.
